Do you take custom orders?
At this time we are not currently taking orders for custom colorways.
Can I order large quantities?
Since most of our listings are for pre-order yarn, you may order as many as you like of any colorway. Please keep in mind that orders of 5 or more of any individual colorway will be dyed in multiple dye pots, so they may be slightly different. I always dye large batches together, which gives a good opportunity for color matching.
Can I order colorways from a previous collection?
Colorways are rotated in and out each season to keep things fresh, to match seasonal trends in colors, and to give you opportunities to mix and match colors from all over the rainbow. We will listen to requests for colorways to return in future collections, but we are only dyeing what is listed in the current collection.
Will you cake my yarn for me?
Absolutely! Send me a note in your order comments, or send me an email with your order number and I'll be glad to cake it up for you before shipping!
Where can I get those cute stitch markers?
At this time, the clay & charm stitch markers you often see featured on our instagram feed, are handmade by Steph, and are just a little thank you gift included with each yarn purchase (as time and supplies allow.) They may be available for sale in the shop in the future, keep your eyes peeled or join our newsletter to be kept in the loop.
What is a Mini Skein?
Mini Skeins are exactly what they sound like: smaller skeins of the yarn you love! Mini skeins are great for mixing and matching, they're great as a pair to a full skein of sock yarn to be used for toes and heels, and they're great for small motif pieces like granny squares! Each of our colorways now come in a mini skein option on both a sock weight and DK weight yarn base.
What is Roving?
The roving offered in my shop is a blend of merino and nylon fiber to be used primarily for spinning. Spinning is a great way to create some unique skeins of yarn, and our colorful roving creates beautiful vibrant handspun yarns that are so fun to knit and crochet with.
Will the colors be the same as what's pictured?
We make every effort to match what is pictured using tested color "recipes" and careful techniques. Will the yarn be exact? No. But it will be inspected after drying to ensure it meets our incredibly high standards before it heads out the door to you! Quantities of the same colorway that are ordered together will be dyed together to ensure color conformity. We recommend if you are ordering yarn for a larger project, order it all at once to get the same dye lot.
If, for any reason, you are unsatisfied, please let us know!
Will the colors run?
Although the colors have been heat set, and rinsed clear in cold water in the dye studio, we have no control over the levels of acidity in your water, and therefore you may expect some color running. Dark colorways, and colorways with lots of reds, pinks, and purples are more likely to run a little. We recommend hand washing in cold water with a mild soap to minimize color loss.
Is your studio pet/allergen free?
No. We make every effort to dry and store the yarn away from the pets, but because our studio and shipping space is in our home (where the pets live), we can not promise they are completely allergen free.
